On Saturday we will venture to Cow Hill Cave. This is not a cave for beginners as it has vertical drops. From all accounts, this is a vertical trip, with the initial rope drop being between 25 and 60 feet (accounts vary). Peter Y will bring a 100' length rope and a 70' length also. You must supply your own vertical gear. If you are coming-- bring an orange shirt it will be the first day of Hunting Season!! Please RSVP with Peter Youngbear @

Kathy and Rick did such a wonderful job of leading to Gould Cave this spring, they are willing to lead a canoe / kayak trip down lake Champlain to Cold Springs Cave this summer.
We will be reassembling after the meeting at Benson Landing around 12 noon in Benson, VT. You will need to bring a hard hat and a light.
If you do not have a boat and still want to go, there may be extra boats to borrow or a single canoeist may want company. Let them know in ADVANCE.

Sunday, June 22nd-- 9AM
9:00AM -- Regular Bi-Monthly VCA meeting held at Rutland Ambulance Service Building--located right behind Rutland Regional Medical Center, the classroom we meet in is in the far back corner.
11:00AM -- After meeting trip to Morris Cave in Danby, VT. Morris is a solutional cave and is rather large, New England's second largest cave, Morris Cave has some 1800' of passage, the first 600' containing three 'filters'... the Cobble Crawl, the Wet Pinch, and THE Pinch. The last of these, 500' into the cave, is a 9.5" x 15" x 24" long squeeze at the bottom of a U shaped passage.... most folks have to take off their helmets, and enter the pinch upside down, on their back. This should be a fun venture-- we plan to spend a few hours exploring! Trip Leader: Donna Stanley & Ken Moore-- Contact Donna with anyquestions: (
